Was There a High School Musical Lawsuit?

Indeed. A lawyer has sued Vanessa Hudgens, who is a star of Disney's High School Musical made for TV movies. The lawyer, Brian Schall, claims that Vanessa owes him money. But he also claims that Vanessa agreed to pay him five percent of her earnings to pay for his legal services - back since October 2005.

What is known is that 19 year old Ms. Hudgens has made over $5 million and lawyer Schall claims $150,000 in legal fees are owed - according to papers of the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles.

Everyone knows the success High School Musical has had. It was quite the surprise for Disney as they spent little to produce it back in 2005. They normally make around 10 made for Disney Channel movies during the course of the year.

This one took off.

The soundtrack alone became the biggest selling CD in the US in 2006, and the tour was one of the most popular. And of course, High School Musical 2 came out in August - an overnight hit.

These movies have made Vanessa Hudgens a star. She plays the shy Gabriella Montez.

The High School Musical actor lawsuit will probably be settled out of court.
